Do I need to print my online ticket?

No. You can simply show the receipt on your smartphone.

How can I get a free ticket?

Free tickets cannot be booked online but can be collected at ticket offices. Note: 24h Only Arena and Full Experience tickets must be booked in advance. See the dedicated Free Tickets page for details.

Can I enter with a small dog?

Yes, in the open areas of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, if the dog weighs between 5–10 kg and is carried in a personal carrier (dog prams not allowed). Dogs are not permitted inside the Colosseum, Domus Aurea, or other enclosed areas.

  • Admission for dogs is free.
  • After security checks, dogs must remain in carriers for the entire visit.
  • Therapy and assistance dogs are permitted with proper documentation.
Is admission free on the first Sunday of each month?

Yes. The Colosseum Archaeological Park participates with these options:

  • Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine Ticket – one combined visit.
  • Forum Pass Ticket – Imperial Forum, Roman Forum, and Palatine in one visit.

Free tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the ticket offices in Piazza del Colosseo (near the Temple of Venus and Rome) and Largo della Salara Vecchia. Membership Card and Roma Pass holders must also collect free tickets in person.

Can I enter the Colosseum at a different time than booked?

No. Entry is only allowed at your reserved time.

How long can I stay inside the Colosseum?

There is no time limit for your visit.

Yes, guided tours can be booked online or on-site at the Colosseum.
